He took his own sweet time in arriving and weighed in at 23 lbs. The darkest cria to date born to mom Ari, he was up and running in no time and nursing heartily. The first of the spring cria that year he had to wait a few weeks for his buddy Lairig Ghru to arrive and then the pair became inseparable, running and pronking in the pastue and just ' being boys'.

Once we were able to assess his fiber we were delighted. Not only were we pleased with his dark fawn color but also the density and fineness of his fleece. From the start he had clearly defined match stick bundles of high frequency crimp from topknot to tail.

Rory has continued to develop well and is now a handsome young male. He has excellent conformation and presence and great overall coverage, just like his sire, KO's Peanut Butter. "PB" is from the Peruvian Knockout, Peruivan White Out line and is an award winning herdsire with excellent fiber statistics. As well as above average density, PB is holding down an excellent micron for a breeding male of 7.5 years of age; 25.7/4.4/15.4.

Rory's dam Arialla, a full Peruvian medium fawn female, also has excellent fiber characteristics carrying a sub 20 micron into her third year and maintaining uniformity and density as she matures. She passes on her fineness, density and great handle to her offspring.

Rory's fleece took first place in the dark/medium fawn yearling class at the Mid-America Alpaca show in 2007. Judge Diana Timmerman awarded him 19/20 for fineness and handle and in her judge's comments remarked on the excellent fineness and soft touch as well as good staple length. She also noted it was a very uniform fleece. All the attributes we are breeding for.

Now a two year old, Rory is maturing well. With his lineage we would expect him to breed easily and produce well. His sire has produced cria in a range of colors from white to brown and we would expect him to follow in his sire's footsteps. We believe Rory is a quality young make and were it not for our abundance of young males on the farm over the past two years we would not be offering him at this stage. This is to your advantage!

We are also offering Rory in a package with his buddy,  Lairig Ghru. From totally different backgrounds, these youngsters would offer genetic diversity as well as excellent color possibilities and fiber traits when they reach breeding maturity.
