Inca's Royal Velvet is the result of a superb breeding between Adena and Snowmass Nova's Inca. Velvet is an alpaca with true curb appeal and a real eye catcher!
Velvet is much darker than Nova's Inca, her sire, but is carrying many of his fine fleece characteristics. Inca has been used as a herdsire to add density and fineness, while allowing color to pass. He seems to have done just that in Velvet. Adena, Velvet's dam, is a young foundation female. She is a beautiful female, completely and totally colored with medium brown fleece. She puts on a healthy quantity of fleece, with an above average staple and very consistent overall fiber traits.
Velvet is maturing well. She participated in her first show in March 2009 and took 4th place in what the judge called a very competitive class at the MOPACA Invitational Show in Kansas City. She described Velvet as dense, well proportioned and well balanced. A perfect description!
Velvet has excellent well proven genetics behind her. Her maternal grandsire, CR&R Hilaca Topgun from the herd of Ruth Elvestad is an ultra-fine fleeced male with a great show record in Canada. Her sire, Snowmass Nova's Inca has a grey dam and a black sire and is from the famed Snowmass Peruvian Casanova, Peruvian Bueno and Peruvian Drambuie line. Given these great genetics, Velvet is sure to be a producer of color when she is of age.
Velvet comes with a breeding to any of our herdsires when she is of age.
