The first cria born on the farm to one of the farm favorites, Ari, he arrived early and when no one was around. As is usual for Ari's cria, he was soon gaining a pound a day and it wasn't long before he was asserting his maleness and acting like he was boss of the herd, hence the name, which is a Scottish term for 'lord' or 'chief'.
The Laird continued to develop well and is now a very handsome young male with a superb frame and presence galore! He has all the right equipment too. Although a light fawn at birth his fiber has lightened to beige, very similar to his sire, with total coverage from head to toe. His fiber is dense with an almost 5" staple. His fleece is very soft and has good brightness. The crimp is well defined and uniform throughout the staple. Both his parents have excellent fiber statistics and The Laird is following in their footsteps.
The Laird's sire, KO's Peanut Butter, is from the Peruvian Knock Out, Peruvian White Out line. KO's sire is a multi award winning herdsire, holding down an excellent micron for a breeding male of 7.5 years of age: 25.7/4.4/15.5. The Laird's sire, KO's PB, is one of the most dense alpacas around. The Laird carries strong and positive lineage from his parents. They mature early, breed easily, produce well. If the Laird breeds like his sire, he will settle females easily and quickly, producing quality offspring in a range of colors.
